Report Templates in the company settings
On this page you manage your own template files that your company uses to generate ticket reports, daily reports, and project reports.
You find this page in the company area, in the left hand menu, as the entry Report templates.
Who can see and edit this page
This page is only accessible to company admins. Every other role is automatically routed to the company profile in the company area and never reaches this page.
Creating a template
The round plus button in the bottom right opens the create dialog. You give it a unique name, choose the template type ticket, daily report, or project, and upload your own Word or PDF template file with placeholders. The template type can no longer be changed once you have uploaded a file. Only for the ticket type can you additionally create your own extra fields for the report, adding them by dragging from a palette, editing, deleting, and reordering them, for example number, text, date, date range, list, or multi select.
A new template is immediately available for selection to all company members as soon as they create a corresponding report elsewhere.
Editing a template or replacing the file
The pencil icon on a table row opens the same dialog with the existing data. The upload button lets you replace the stored file with a new one.
If you replace the file, reports created afterward automatically use the new file. Already generated reports, meaning finished PDF or Word files, remain unaffected and do not change retroactively.
Downloading a template
The download icon lets you download the currently stored template file with its original file name.
Deleting a template
The trash icon removes a template after a confirmation prompt. If this template is currently selected elsewhere, for example in a ticket, project, or daily report, the app does not automatically check this when deleting. Report generation at that location can then fail if the chosen template no longer exists. Check beforehand whether the template is still needed.
Example templates
In the create dialog you find a button that lets you download example templates as a zip file from the upmesh website, as a starting point for your own templates.
The info dialog: placeholder syntax
The info icon next to the heading opens a dialog that explains how to build your own template file with placeholders. Important to know: this dialog does not explain the process of how a user later clicks Create report within a ticket, project, or daily report, that runs through separate dialogs at those locations. The info dialog is purely a reference for the syntax your Word or PDF template needs to understand:
Structure tab: explains the basic building blocks, such as inserting a value, inserting an image, looping over lists with FOR and END FOR, conditions with IF and END IF, and date formatting.
Ticket, Report, and Project tabs: searchable lists of all available placeholder variables for the respective template type, grouped by topics such as general, ticket, plan, comments, files, or images, including the extra fields configured in your company. Clicking an entry copies the matching variable directly to your clipboard, so you can paste it into your template file.
Table: columns and settings
The table shows: name, creator, creation date, and template type. The template type column is sortable.
Changing column settings: click the three dot icon in the top right of the table and choose Table settings. There you show or hide columns and adjust their order and width.
Storage: these settings are saved locally on your device only and do not affect other company admins, or other tables elsewhere in the app.
