Ticket Layouts in the company settings
On this page you create company wide ticket layout templates with system and custom fields, which you can manually take over when creating a layout in a project.
You find this page in the company area, in the left hand menu under the section Templates for projects, as the entry Ticket layouts.
Important to know: only on demand, never automatic
Unlike tags, crafts, ticket types, or status, a company layout template is not automatically applied to newly created projects. It is only available as an option when a user creates a new ticket layout within a project themselves and explicitly chooses Copy layout from company settings there. Without that active step, the template has no effect on new projects.
Who can see and edit this page
This page is only accessible to company admins; every other role is automatically routed to the company profile in the company area and never reaches this page. Creating, editing and deleting are accordingly only possible as an admin, and the permission is additionally checked on the server.
The field builder
The create and edit dialog works exactly like ticket layouts within a project: a palette of available fields on the left, your current layout on the right. Two fields are always included and cannot be removed, title and ticket type.
System fields, each usable only once: status, description, plan, due date, assignee, approver, tags, craft, time tracking.
Custom field types: number, text, date, date range, list, multi select list, checkbox list, person, multi person, divider, progress.
For fields of type list or multi select list you can additionally create rules, meaning further fields that are only shown on the ticket when specific values are selected in the list. You add fields by dragging them from the palette, edit or delete them via the three dot menu on the field, and reorder them by dragging the handle icon on each row.
One difference from the project context: since a company template isn't tied to a specific project, the step for assigning ticket types is missing here, as is the live preview that simulates a real ticket with the layout in the project context.
Creating, editing, deleting a layout
The round plus button in the bottom right opens the create dialog for a new layout from scratch. The pencil icon on a table row lets you edit an existing layout in the same builder. The trash icon lets you delete a layout after a confirmation prompt.
Since a company template is only copied on demand and afterward lives independently within the respective project, deleting or changing a company template has no effect on project layouts already created via the copy button. Unlike deleting a project layout, there is also no lock here due to tickets already assigned, since a company template can never itself have tickets assigned to it. Deleting is therefore always possible without restriction.
