Lists in the company settings
On this page you create company wide value lists that you can import as a ready made value set when creating list fields in ticket layouts and report layouts.
You find this page in the company area, in the left hand menu under the section Templates for projects, as the entry Lists.
What these lists actually are
Important to know: a company list is a pure template, not a directly usable company element. When creating a field of type list, multi select list or checkbox list in a ticket layout or report layout, you can use an import button to choose one of your company lists; the values it contains are then copied once into the field. After that there is no connection anymore to the original company list: if you later change or delete the company list, the already imported values in that field stay unchanged. You can also run the import several times, values are then added rather than replaced, and the copied values can afterward be edited independently within the field itself.
Who can see and edit this page
This page is only accessible to company admins; every other role is automatically routed to the company profile in the company area and never reaches this page. Creating, editing and deleting are accordingly only possible as an admin, and the permission is additionally checked on the server.
Creating a list
The round plus button in the bottom right opens the create dialog. You enter a name, which must be unique company wide, and add at least one value. You add further values via the Add option button; you remove individual values via the trash icon next to the respective entry; you change the order of values by dragging the handle icon.
A new list is immediately available for selection to all company admins in the import dialog when creating ticket layout and report layout fields.
Editing a list
The pencil icon on a table row lets you change the name and values of an existing list, with the same editing options as when creating one. Since importing only copies the values with no lasting connection, there is no usage check here. You can therefore change a list freely at any time, without affecting field values already imported into ticket layouts or report layouts.
Deleting a list
The trash icon removes an entire list after a confirmation prompt, likewise without any usage check. Values already imported into layout fields remain completely unaffected.
No Excel import
There is no Excel import or export function for company lists themselves; you enter values individually via the dialog.
Table: columns and settings
The table shows: name, creator, creation date, and the number of values it contains. Name, creator and creation date are sortable, the column with the number of values is not.
Changing column settings: click the three dot icon in the top right of the table and choose Table settings. There you show or hide columns and adjust their order and width. The same menu also offers Copy and Export.
Storage: these settings are saved locally on your device only and do not affect other company admins, or other tables elsewhere in the app.
