Time tracking

On the Working Time Models page in the company settings you define how many hours your employees should work on each weekday — the basis for time tracking. This page only appears if your company uses the time tracking module.

Who can see and edit this page

The list itself is generally visible, but creating, editing, copying, deleting and "set as default" are only possible as a company admin — this check is additionally enforced on the server and can't be bypassed.

List of models

Each model appears as its own card with a name/tag, the late-recording deadline in days, and the target hours per weekday (start, end, break; empty means a non-working day). The current default model is marked "(Default)". The "⋮" menu on a card gives you Edit, Copy, and — only if it's not the default model — "Set as default" and "Delete".

Creating or editing a model

The round plus button in the bottom right opens the create dialog; "Edit" in the card menu opens the same dialog pre-filled with the existing values. You enter:

  • Name/tag – required, must be unique within your company.

  • Late-recording deadline – how many days back time entries can still be added retroactively (0–31 days).

  • Sections – at least one. Each section applies "from" a given day/month (no year, so it repeats yearly) and contains, for every weekday, a "working day" checkbox plus start, end and break time. This lets you, for example, store different hours for summer than for winter.

Important effect: target hours are not stored per time entry, but calculated live from the current model every time they're displayed or computed. So if you change hours or breaks in an existing model, this affects retroactively every view that calculates against this model — including already past or already approved periods in the time tracking overview, the approvals page, and potentially payroll evaluations. If you want past periods to remain unchanged, create a new section with a matching start date instead of overwriting an existing section.

Copying a model

"Copy" opens the same dialog with the source model's values but an empty name — a quick way to create a variant of an existing model as a completely new, independent model.

Setting as default

Sets the model as the company-wide default. The default model cannot be deleted while it holds this status.

Deleting a model

"Delete" in the card menu removes a model after a confirmation prompt. Deletion is refused with no way to force it if either the model is the default model, or at least one active employee still has this model assigned (even a removed employee blocks deletion if time tracking entries still exist for them). The error message lists the affected names for you. To make deletion possible, you must first set a different model as default and/or assign a different model to all affected employees via employee management.

Assigning to employees

Assigning a model to an individual employee doesn't happen on this page, but in that employee's profile ("Working time model" tab) — also with its own start date there, so an employee can have several models one after another over time.

Bulk creation via Excel (desktop/web only)

On the web, the plus button also gives you an Excel import/export option, with columns for name/tag, late-recording deadline, start date, and start/end/break time per weekday. On import, the name/tag determines whether an existing model is updated or a new one created.
