Page description

On this page you manage company wide categories that your employees can use to classify reports and tickets.

You find this page in the company area, in the left hand menu under the section Company templates for projects, as the entry Categories.

Who can see and edit this page

All company members see the list of categories. Creating, editing and deleting are reserved exclusively for company admins. Without that role, you only see the table in a read only state, with no actions.

Creating a category

The round plus button in the bottom right opens, on the web, a menu with two options: add a single category, or import several categories via Excel. On mobile, the button opens the create dialog for a single category directly. You only enter a name; it must be unique within your company.

Effect on others: a new category is immediately available for selection to every employee of your company, as soon as they want to classify a report or a ticket accordingly.

Editing a category

The pencil icon on a table row lets you change the name of an existing category.

The rename takes effect immediately company wide; everywhere the category is offered for selection, the new name appears from then on.

Deleting a category

The trash icon removes a category after a confirmation prompt. This only removes the category name from the company wide list; existing reports or tickets that already carry this category remain unaffected, the category is simply no longer offered for new assignments afterward.

Bulk creation via Excel

On the web, the plus button also gives you an Excel import option: you upload a file with one column for the category name, and a new category is created for each row.

Table: columns and settings

The table shows a single column with the category name, sortable by clicking the column header.

Changing column settings: click the three dot icon in the top right of the table and choose Table settings. There you adjust the column width. The same menu also offers Copy and Export.

Storage: these settings are saved locally on your device only and do not affect other company members, or other tables elsewhere in the app.
